Experience the Colonial Lifestyle of a Tea Planter
Wild Mahseer, named after one of the toughest game fish in the world, is a unique haven of the British Assam colonial lifestyle. Spread over 22 acres it is set in the midst of the Balipara division of Addabarie Tea Estate near Tezpur, which was established by the British Assam Tea Company in 1864.
Surrounded by tea gardens the jewel in our crown is a 3 bedroom Heritage Bungalow, immersed in over 100 years of rich history and characterized by its elegant Victorian architecture. 4 smaller independent bungalows scattered throughout the estate provide an additional 11 double rooms each with its own en suite bathroom. The First Flush, an airy, sunny dining pavilion is the place to visit for tea tasting and Two & A Bud is our conference facility, which accommodates up to 30 people.
Positioned in the very lap of nature Wild Mahseer has ample history embedded in its British Assam colonial lifestyle and there is something of interest for everyone: the nature lover, the gourmet, the relaxer, the meditator, the sportsman, the cultural junkie, the wildlife enthusiast, the ornithologist and the adventurer.
Wild Mahseer’s quaint colonial style together with its lush surroundings and vast range of activities available makes it an ideal get away for people from all over the planet.
Our guests have included world renowned environmentalists, wild life conservationists, anglers, Hollywood film crews, photographers, members of International Diplomatic Corps, planters’ families and a whole range of adventure enthusiasts from many different countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh as well as from all over India.
